LYNN HARVEY has established herself as one of the leading Producers of entertainment television in Canada, producing a wide range of shows in the fields of Comedy, Music, Children’s and Documentary, and working with most of Canada’s major comedic, musical and acting stars.
Over the last 12 months, Lynn has Executive Produced the 30th Annual Genie Awards, the 24th Annual Gemini Awards, the 2009 Santa Claus Parade and the Becel Love Your Heart Benefit Concert, a live music special from the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto, which was simulcast to over 100 movie theatres across Canada and captured for a documentary aired on Canwest. Lynn is currently in production on the second season of CBC’s new flagship comedy series, The Ron James Show, a show she co-created with fellow Executive Producer Ron James. Lynn has produced four specials with James, who is Canada’s #1 selling comedian.
Lynn has produced many award shows over the years, including The Juno Awards (seven times), The Gemini Awards (four times) & The Genie Awards (three times), as well as a one hour special celebrating 20 years of the Geminis, True North Strong and TV. Lynn’s work with these award shows has garnered her multiple Gemini nominations and has allowed her to work with some of the biggest names in entertainment; Kim Cattrall, Cory Monteith, Sandra Oh, Matt Damon, Chantal Kreviazuk, Deborah Cox, Dave Foley, and Jason Priestley, among many others. In 2008, she produced the comedy special Just for Laughs: The Colour of Funny, the first JFL show to shoot outside of its Montreal home base. Over the last few years she developed and produced two series for W Network: Living Romance, a guide to finding romance in all aspects of your life, and Between the Sheets, a show for average couples looking to spice up their sex life. Lynn also produced and directed Don’t Stand Still, a two-hour documentary which followed several women who have battled breast cancer.
Lynn acted as a creative consultant for the 4th Annual OneXOne Benefit Gala and Concert, hosted by Matt Damon, and featuring performances from Wyclef Jean, John Legend, Russell Peters, and Nikki Yanofsky.
In the spring of 2006, Lynn produced a one-hour special for CBC entitled Sketch with Kevin McDonald, featuring the Kids in the Hall veterans and six of Canada’s best up and coming sketch troupes. It was nominated for a Golden Sheaf Award for Best Comedy. Prior to that, Lynn conceived and produced the special 25 Years of Skinnamarink, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the popular children’s entertainers Sharon, Lois & Bram, for whom she also co-created and produced a 52 episode series Skinnamarink TV and a holiday special entitled Candles, Snow and Mistletoe.
Lynn was the Co-creator and Producer of Jonovision, a highly-rated daily comedic talk show for teenagers which ran for five seasons on CBC-TV and led into another series she also co-created and produced, Jonathan Cross’s Canada.
Other credits include producing the two-hour concert special Live from Rideau Hall, hosted by Governor General Adrienne Clarkson and starring many of Canada’s top musical acts including Barenaked Ladies & Gordon Lightfoot, and CBC’s Canada Day Special – Live from Parliament Hill an impressive ten times. She also produced AidScare/AidsCare, an award-winning special about teenagers and AIDS.
Lynn is the President of Enter the Picture Productions Inc., a Toronto-based Production Company.
